Quarantine-Friendly Makeup Look: Five Minutes and only One Brush

My last day in the office was March 12. After a week of spring break, I returned to work, reverting my desk-turned-vanity to just desk. The makeup and button-up pants did not return to the new WFH arrangement.

After three weeks of going completely barefaced, I longed to use all my pretty makeup products still sitting in my top desk drawer. Makeup has once again become a workday habit but on a much smaller scale. Thanks to some products I purchased pre-pandemic, I’ve mastered my quarantine look. It only takes five minutes, and I only employ one makeup brush.

10 Products, 10 Minutes to an Easy Makeup Look

Some mornings, I wake up eager and ready to pull together a detailed, fabulous makeup look. Most mornings, I have snoozed for 18 minutes, am running late, and need to pull together a quick made-up face. Here’s the rundown for a look I’ve been doing a lot the past few months. It takes me about 7-8 minutes, so for those not as quick on the draw, let’s call it an even 10 minutes.

Judicial Review: Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Excess Mascara

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Excess MascaraWhen I was last at Neiman Marcus to pick up a new bottle of my favorite Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Martina, the wonderful Armani beauty sales associate, gave me some goodies. One sample in my bag was Eyes to Kill Excess Mascara. I gave it a test drive, and here’s the story.

Jenn’s Ten-Minute Face: Winter Edition

Back in September, I wrote a post about my five-minute make-up face.  Now that the heat has FINALLY gone away, I can tolerate wearing a little more product.  For winter, I’ve been wearing foundation everyday and have punched up the color on my lips. Here’s my go-to make-up look when I want to quickly get out the door but still look put together.

Judicial Review: Dior Extase Mascara

Dior Extase MascaraI’ve heard nothing but amazing things about Dior mascaras, so when I received a sample of Dior Extase Mascara I was excited to try it!

The claim: “A revolutionary formula with spectacular plumping volume that glides over the lashes to coat them one by one. Enriched with Metamorphosis Powder and spherical black pearl pigments, it is specially designed to amplify lash volume and deliver deep intensity to the eyes in a single stroke. …the brush with its exclusive couture design combines two types of fibers to coat and comb the lashes for guaranteed volume.”

Make-up Styling for a Wedding, Part III: Ingredients List

Last time we talked, Jenn had responded to some make-up inspirations that I sent her. She was on board for a neutral palette of an overall peach overtone, with punched up eyes. Based on that information, I devised an “ingredients list” to cook-up Jenn’s perfect wedding make-up look. Some of the products she would buy, and some I would bring with me. To come up with this list, I mentally walked through her make-up application.

Jenn’s Five-Minute Face: Summer Edition

As I’ve gotten older, I am stricter about how I look when I leave the house to be seen out in public. Unless I’m heading to the gym or a quick run to the grocery store, I am wearing some kind of outfit that’s been given some consideration with a face with some makeup. But it is hot in Texas, so I don’t like to wear foundation every day. Here is my summertime five-minute made-up face.
