10 Products, 10 Minutes to an Easy Makeup Look

Some mornings, I wake up eager and ready to pull together a detailed, fabulous makeup look. Most mornings, I have snoozed for 18 minutes, am running late, and need to pull together a quick made-up face. Here’s the rundown for a look I’ve been doing a lot the past few months. It takes me about 7-8 minutes, so for those not as quick on the draw, let’s call it an even 10 minutes.

#1 – Foundation – I wrote about my new favorite foundation from Maybelline not too long ago. If you want to be really fast, you can apply this liquid mousse foundation with your fingertips, but I still prefer to use a brush.

#2 – Concealer – I apply a small squirt of Cover FX Cream Concealer on the back of my hand, blend with the tip of my middle finger, then gently dab under my eyes. Remember to never pull or tug at this delicate area.

#3 – Eye shadow primer – I also recently wrote about this awesome Urban Decay product. Love the matte, even finish it gives to my eyelids, in addition to its magical crease-free properties.

#4 – All-in-one eye shadow and liner – This thick bronze-y colored pencil that came with a GloMinerals holiday makeup kit is a cross between an eyeliner and a shadow. Since you can’t buy this separately, you might try these options from Smashbox, NARS, Urban Decay, or Sephora. I apply along the lower lashline and generously on the upper lashline. I don’t worry about neatly applying, because in the next step, I’ll blend it in.

#5 – Neutral, champagne eye shadow – Stila Kitten is a versatile eye shadow that I think everyone should have in their make-up kit. I use a crease brush, dust the shadow in and above the crease and then blend into the eye shadow pencil applied in step #4.

#6 – Eyebrow filler – Well-groomed brows are key to having a finished look. I apply a small drop of this Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow gel to the back of my hand and use an angled liner brush to fill in and extend the length of my brows. Bonus that this particular product is waterproof.

#7 – Powder blush – This blush duo is another product that came in my GloMinerals kit, but any neutral, rose-colored blush will work. (This duo from Lorac might be a good substitute.) I’m loving a new Make Up For Ever cream blush I bought recently, but powder blush is quicker to apply.

#8 – Finishing powder – A quick swipe of my favorite Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder with a fluffy powder brush just along the t-zone gives a nice matte finish.

#9 – Mascara – I’ve tried other options, but Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara is still my favorite. It curls and lengthens all at once, saving time.

#10 – Lip gloss – This Chanel Glossimer in Pagoda is the perfect pinkish-nude shade for me with just a hint of sparkle.

And that’s it! Ten products to a simple, polished face. Do you have a go-to, quick makeup look?

Love it! Being a new mom, I’m on the under 5 minute plan. I need to find a good tinted moisturizer and sunscreen all-in-one though….

Right now, I use a moisturizer with sunscreen. Then I swipe on Tarte cheek stain. I know you say powder is faster, but I like that I don’t even have to use a brush– only fingers. And this product is not sticky at all. I then also use Diorshow Iconic mascara. If I’m having an extra minute I will swipe on some eyeshadow in a neutral color– MAC shadow color = rice paper.
