Jenn’s Ten-Minute Face: Winter Edition

Back in September, I wrote a post about my five-minute make-up face.  Now that the heat has FINALLY gone away, I can tolerate wearing a little more product.  For winter, I’ve been wearing foundation everyday and have punched up the color on my lips. Here’s my go-to make-up look when I want to quickly get out the door but still look put together.

#1 – Foundation – I did finally buy a bottle of the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, and I’m still loving it as much as when I wrote about that sample I received back in September.  I didn’t think I’d wear it everyday, but I do, and I have found application with a sponge wedge easiest.

#2 – Concealer – Still a must for me, and still using Cover FX Conceal FX Camouflage Concealer.  I squirt out a teeny amount, smaller than a pea, on the back of my hand, blend with my finger and then lightly dab and blend under the eyes.

#3 – Eyeliner – This L’Oreal Lineur Intense Felt-Tip Liquid Eyeliner is one of my new favorite things.  I’ve used liquid eyeliner in the past, but this felt tip is the business!  It’s super easy to apply, and it gives you a nice defined line without smudging. Ever.

#4 – Eyebrows – No matter the season, I will always put my eyebrows on.  I use an eyebrow brush to comb them into place and then apply powder (Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow in Perversion) with an angled liner brush to fill and lengthen them.

#5 – Blush – I’ve been using LORAC blush for years, and their pink is my favorite.  It looks bright in the pan, but it goes on fairly sheer but is buildable.  Using a fluffy blush brush, I smile and apply to the fullest parts of my cheeks.

#6 – Translucent powder – I have now purchased the Bare Escentuals SPF 25 Mineral Veil to use as a finishing powder.  It’s a nice little boost of sun protection to complement the sunscreen moisturizer I apply pre-makeup.

#7 – Mascara – Still using my favorite DiorShow Iconic Mascara.

#8 – Lipgloss – I’ve been wearing more color on my lips this season, and as I recently reviewed, I love Revlon’s ColorBurst Lipgloss in Spice It Up.  I’ve also been pairing a red lip with this make-up look.

Have any of you changed up your make-up routine for the new season?

I recently started lining the inside of my upper lids. It’s a trick that I learned from the MAC counter. The key is to find a really soft pencil, and then make sure it has a freshly sharpened tip. It gives an unexpected definition without really being able to tell that you’ve lined your eyes. I’m not sure if it would be a good idea for contact wearers, but it is a nice alternative to a traditional lined eye.
