Jenn and I attended the TRIBEZA ‘Rock + Runway‘ men’s fashion show at the American Legion this past Tuesday night.
This was the 2nd year TRIBEZA has included a night for the stylish men of Austin and a welcome change of pace; I love the girly stuff but it’s nice to see the men getting some well-deserved attention!
The setting: under the stars at the American Legion off of Lake Austin Blvd. Thankfully Austin saw some rain earlier in the evening, so by the time the event began it had pleasantly cooled off. We sat on bales of hay, noshing on eats from Foreign & Domestic and Buenos Aires Café, sipping drinks from Maker’s Mark, Deep Eddy Vodka and Pacifico, and rocking to tunes from The Happen-Ins.
If there was a common thread (pun intended) to the men’s look it was polished masculinity. Very gentlemanly, which is to say very sexy.
First out of the gate was By George, by far my favorite of the night. (I mean the clothes, really.)
Next up was Allens Boots, presenter of Rock + Runway:
A handsome coat by UT Fashion Show winner Colton Gerard:
The show ended with the masculine hipster look from Service Menswear:
Keys to looking stylish this Fall:
- Vests
- Informally cuffed pants
- Layering
As a partner to my post A Man’s Guide to a First Date, I was contemplating writing a post on what to wear for said first date, but these pictures are worth a thousand words. Take notes, boys.
