As you read a couple weeks ago, Wendy and I attended Neiman Marcus’s Beauty Event Preview Party. Can you say FUN? And dangerous. The samples and makeovers were plentiful, and it’s safe to say that Wendy and I have/will pick up some new, expensive beauty habits.
During the evening, I was sent over to the Giorgio Armani counter to try their products. The make-up artist removed the foundation I was wearing from my cheeks and proceeded to apply their Luminous Silk Foundation on me. I could not believe how good my skin looked. Wait no … how flawless my skin looked! The lovely Armani ladies sent me home with a sample so that I could try it myself and see how the foundation looked in the daylight.
The Good: From my sample packet, I squirted what I thought was a small amount of Luminous Silk Foundation on my brush. That little amount went a long way, and I should have used less. It is easy to apply and achieve even smooth coverage with a powdery, silky finish. The coverage is light to medium, and I was able to build it up in the red irritated areas of my cheeks. Luminous Silk Foundation comes in 20 shades, so everyone should be able to find a perfect match.
And as if the flawless skin effect wasn’t enough, this foundation is also long-wearing. I wore it to a bridal shower, which you can see in the natural light photos below. Seven hours later, with no blotting or powder re-application, but with plenty of nose blowing thanks to a cold, the foundation had not creased or started to settle on top of my skin. Amazing!
The Questionable: I can’t really think of anything questionable about this product. It is not a cheap foundation at $59, but again, for skin that looks this good, I’ll pay the price. Also, there is no SPF, so you’ll still need to use some kind of sun protection underneath your foundation.
The Verdict: This is InStyle’s “Best Liquid Foundation” year after year for good reason. With Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, I achieve the complexion I’ve always dreamed of! My skin looks even and radiant, but most importantly, it still looks like MY skin. It’s been several years since I’ve used a liquid foundation, because I always felt they were too heavy and masking. That’s definitely not the case with this product. This will definitely be my new foundation.

Well now I have foundation envy!
