The Beauty-terrogation: Round Two

This will be a recurring post where our Beautypendents answer five questions. Suggest your own interrogation questions in the comments!

#1 – You’re stranded on an island.  What three SKIN CARE products do you have?
WENDY: My Oil of Olay Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash, Estee Lauder Day Wear with SPF 15, and Carmex.  That’s right, Carmex.  Don’t judge me.
JENN: 1) Dove beauty bar, because I hate feeling dirty. 2) A good SPF30 sunblock. Recommendations anyone? 3) Last but not least, lotion! Typically, I use Curel Fragrance Free lotion, but I think I’d go for the Ultra Healing formula for island conditions.

#2 – Guiltiest food pleasure?
WENDY: CUPCAKES!! (For the record, I don’t feel guilty about them, but I do feel guilty about not feeling guilty.)  The quickest way to my heart is through Peanut Butter cupcakes from LIBIOB.  I’m also a huge fan of Delish on 3rd, and am dying to try Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop.  I’m always looking to try a new place if anyone has suggestions!  My dream birthday is a cupcake tour in a limo.  Wearing stretchy pants.

JENN: I love me a juicy cheeseburger, french fries and a coke.  My Austin faves are P. Terry’s on the cheap end and Second Bar + Kitchen on the high end.

#3 – Favorite season and why?
WENDY: It’s a tie between Spring and December.  Yep, I said December: I really don’t like the cold part of Winter but I love the Christmas/New Year’s part so I’m ignoring the rest.  It’s so colorful and festive, and it’s one of the few times of the year when we collectively seem more receptive to the themes of hope and generosity. Or maybe that’s just me and I project it onto everyone else?  Whatever, it makes me happy.

JENN: I’ve always loved springtime.  I love the smells and colors of flowers blooming, and the idea of things coming back to life.  Also, albeit brief, it’s one of the non-scorching times of the year in Texas.

#4 – Lipstick or lipgloss?  And which product?

Nars Dolce Vita

WENDY: I prefer sheer or glossy lipsticks.  I think lipgloss looks pretty (Jenn rocks it!) but then my hair gets stuck in it and drags it across my face and I’m annoyed.  Nars Dolce Vita Lipstick has been a staple of mine for years, and more recently their Pure Sheer SPF Lip Treatment in Angelique. I also love Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Lip Color in Uber Pink.  This weekend I acquired Cle de Peau’s Extra Silky Lipstick.  It’s early but I think it might be love….
JENN:  This is tough.  Historically, I’m a lipgloss girl, but I’ve been getting more and more into lipstick lately.  For years and years, I used MAC Lipglass, but in the last year or so, I’ve been using Korres Cherry Lip Gloss.  I guess you could say I’m on the market for a new favorite lip gloss.  What do you gals like?

Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser#5 – What is the best beauty tip you learned from your mom?

WENDY: I mentioned this in my Beauty Bill of Rights (see Article X), but my mother told me from an early age that people should notice YOU, not your makeup.  She had to repeat that a lot during the early 80’s….
JENN:  My mom taught me to never go to sleep with my make-up on and to use a mild facial cleanser.  I’ve been using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for as long as I can remember.
