My dear friend Jenn (no, I’m not talking about myself in the third person) was getting married and asked me to do her make-up for the wedding. Of course, I agreed. And then I had a mini panic attack about it.
You see, the wedding is in Seattle, and I’m only flying in the day before. I can’t possibly do her make-up the day of the wedding without a run through! I believe strongly in doing “dress rehearsals” for any major event look. After we finally spoke, I captured the essential details to help me pick out a make-up look.
Venue: Outdoor ceremony in a wooded area
Time: Ceremony is in the afternoon, followed immediately by the reception
Dress: White strapless with a sweetheart neckline, chiffon material with some beading and A-line skirt
Hair: Updo with a side bun worn with an orange orchid
Jewelry: choker necklace made of pearl and turquoise strands
Bride’s wishes: Jenn wants to look natural, but obviously smashing on her special day.
NEXT STEP: Pick out some make-up looks to share with Jenn to get her feedback.
