A few months ago, I received an email from Hard Night Good Morning, a Dallas-based line of skincare products created by D’Andra Simmons. They asked if I would be interested in trying out some of the products, which are sold at Whole Foods. When I said “yes”, little did I know that they would ship me a box filled with almost the entire product line! Even more impressive was the handwritten note from D’Andra sharing important facts about a few of the products.
Since I only write on Beautypendence about products that I have personally used, and it takes a while to truly evaluate a skincare product’s efficacy, you may be seeing reviews of HNGM products sprinkled over the next year. First up is perhaps their most beloved product, Facial Cocktail Serum.

It may be pseudo-winter here in Austin, but the weather is still dry and killer on my skin. And in order to avoid picking up yucky germs, I’m an avid hand washer (see graphic above). Consequently, my hands require extra attention during this season. As you may have gathered from reading this blog, I *might* have a slight obsession with caring for my hands. Several months ago, a friend gave me the Mary Kay Peach Satin Hands Pampering Set, and I’m very grateful.
In early September, Wendy and I attended Neiman Marcus’s Beauty Event Preview Party. That night, we spent a good amount of time chatting with a ReVive representative, learning about their line of skincare products developed by a plastic surgeon. The representative generously gave us both several sample products. Of the selection, I decided to give the Fermitif Neck Renewal Cream a trial run. I remember the sales rep saying it was the product most recommended from other vendors. It was a 0.5 oz sample jar, which with twice a day application lasted around six weeks. I’m a person of strong convictions. Some would say opinionated. Others might use the terms ‘bossy’ or ‘authoritative’. They aren’t un-right, but that doesn’t make said convictions any less absolutely correct under any and all circumstances.
Article I: Freedom from treating your skin like a wax figure from Madame Tussauds. You know what keeps bar soap in that bar shape? Wax. It might be a fancy wax, but it’s a wax substance. If you spend a lot of money on fancy serums and creams that wax is only acting as a barrier
to their ability to penetrate the skin’s surface. Get a decent liquid face wash that’s free of fragrance and other possible irritants. Ban the Bar!
